Temporary Closure Update – Sandia Peak Ski Area

Wondering what we’ve been up to? This week our team has been busy with lift maintenance and even took a deep dive into Chair 2. While there's still plenty of work ahead, we’re taking the first steps to restore the beloved lift and continue to improve your experience at Sandia Peak Ski Area.
The Sandia Team thanks you for all of your support. Stay tuned as we share more progress on the enhancements coming soon!
In the meantime, we spy some snow in the forecast at our nearby Power Pass mountains and it’s looking to be a great week at Sipapu, Pajarito, and Purgatory!

With warmer weather putting our winter on hold, the team is still full speed ahead behind the scenes! While we’ve been monitoring weather and conditions closely, we’ve also been working hard to make enhancements at Sandia daily.
Here’s what’s happening on the mountain right now:

Our lift crew continues to make sure all lifts are in top shape and ready to go when conditions allow.

We're checking everything around the mountain, so we're ready to roll when the next big storm shows up!

You can expect better and more consistent grooming with the addition of a new snowcat.

There's cold temps on the horizon – keep an eye out for snowmaking updates via our snow report and socials.
We're committed to our guest experience and making further enhancements at Sandia. We appreciate the support from you and the community as we navigate these warmer temperatures and continue to improve our mountain.

Sandia Peak Ski Area will be temporarily closed due to warm temps and limited snow. Despite our team's best efforts, conditions won’t allow us to make new snow right now. But we’re not giving up! We're working hard to get you back on the mountain this season. Stay tuned, and think snow!
In the meantime, we want to ensure that our guests with pre-purchased tickets have options:

Use your credit immediately at Sipapu & Pajarito—your ticket value is honored at purchase value as resort credit.

Hold onto it and redeem it at Sandia when conditions improve.
