Power Access Card: A New Way to Access Your Mountain
The Power Access Card is a reusable RFID card that gives you hands-free access to your Mountain. It isn’t a season pass or a lift ticket. It’s an access card linked to your guest record, so the lift tickets, season pass, and summer activities you buy all live on one card. Guests print theirs in seconds at a mountain kiosk using the QR code in their pickup email.
What is the Power Access Card?
Think of it as your key to Sandia Peak, the closest skiing to Albuquerque and your backyard mountain in the southwest. Your Power Access Card is linked to you (your guest record), not to any one pass or ticket. Whatever you buy, from a season pass to a single day on the hill, connects to that record, and your card is how you get to it. It uses RFID, so it stays in your pocket while our lift team scans it hands-free.
Your card is personal. It’s linked to your guest record and it’s for you only. If your card is lost, contact Guest Services at a Power Pass mountain immediately. A replacement card costs $5. Gift cards, wallet balances, and other information linked to your guest record may be accessible to someone else if your card is misplaced.

One card for everything you buy
One card holds it all. Say you have a multi-day pass and you also pick up some $9 lift tickets: you use the same Power Access Card for all of it. Next summer, that same card works for mountain activities, and the season after, for a lift ticket or a new season pass. One card, lots of ways to enjoy the Freedom To Ski at Sandia Peak and across Power Pass mountains.
Season passholders
Watch for your pickup email. When the kiosk at your mountain is ready, we’ll email you a QR code and simple instructions. Kiosks come online ahead of each opening day, mountain by mountain.
One email per passholder. For this first rollout, every passholder receives their own separate email with their own QR code. If several people in your family have passes, look for one email for each person.
Visit any U.S. Power Pass mountain kiosk. Passholders can print their card at a kiosk at any U.S. Power Pass mountain.
No cards are mailed this season, so there’s no waiting on the mailbox. Pickup is a one-time stop.
Lift ticket guests
Lift ticket guests follow the same process as passholders: we email you a QR code. Scan it at a kiosk at the mountain your ticket is for, and your card prints in seconds.

How to print your card at a kiosk
- Open your pickup email and have your QR code ready (on your phone or printed).
- Scan your QR code at the kiosk.
- Your card prints in seconds. If you have more than one email (one per passholder), scan each QR code to print each card.
- Pocket it and go. Card in one pocket, phone in another, and you’re ready for the lift.
Opening weekend is always a busy one, so give yourself a few extra minutes on your first day.
Where are the kiosks at Sandia Peak?

Check back here or follow us online for updates.
At the lift: hands-free access
Keep your card in your pocket and walk on up. Our lift team scans it hands-free, so there’s no digging through layers with your gloves on. For the cleanest read, keep your card and your phone in separate pockets.
Keep it and reuse it
Hang on to your card when the season wraps. The card is built to be reused in the future for any new product you buy: tickets, summer activities, or a new season pass. Reuse, not reload.
New this winter
You’ll need a new Power Access Card this winter. Cards from last winter won’t work at the lifts. Pick one up free at a kiosk (or Guest Services) after you buy your pass or tickets, then keep using that same card for years.
Frequently asked questions
What is the Power Access Card?
The Power Access Card is a reusable RFID card that gives you hands-free access to your Mountain. It is an access card linked to your guest record, not to any single product, so the lift tickets, season pass, or summer activities you buy all live on the same card.
Is the Power Access Card my season pass?
No. The Power Access Card is not a season pass and it is not a lift ticket. It’s an access card linked to your guest record. Your season pass, your lift tickets, and any other products you buy are connected to that record, and your card is how you access them at the mountain.
Can I use one card for more than one product?
Yes. One card holds everything. For example, if you have a multi-day pass and also buy $9 lift tickets, you use the same Power Access Card for all of it. You can use that same card next summer for mountain activities, or for a lift ticket the following season.
Can I reuse it?
Yes. Hang on to your card. It is built to be reused in the future for any new product you buy: lift tickets, summer activities, or a new season pass.
